Looking for Work

It's been like a couple of weeks since I last posted. I was busy working in the Pizza Restaurant, for long hours everyday. I had to quit it a few days ago, though. I got in an argument with the owner, who is a first time owner and manager. He didn't know how to talk, or how to carry himself. It was a pain dealing with him. I had to quit. I feel good that I don't have to deal with him anymore. I'm a very likeable guy, and a very hard worker and good listener. If you don't how to manage me, you don't know nothing about management.
Right now I'm filling about 10 applications online everyday. I've been to an interview with a company on Thursday, and had a 2nd interview with them the very next day. I believe it went very good, and they liked me. They told me they are interested in me, but they wanted me to work nights. I cannot work nights. It just doesn't work for me. When I'm make it to medical school and become a doctor things might be different. Anyway, they will try to find me a different shift. I expect to hear from them on Monday.
I have another interview with a different company on Monday, and another one with another company on Tuesday. Just trying to keep my options open.
on a personal note, things are getting better between me and my wife. We are seriously trying to work out our differences, since we both interested in keeping this marriage from falling apart.
School will start in a couple of weeks, and I'm yet to decide on what to register for. I'm only planning on taking 5 credit hours, since that what I can pay for. I used all my financial aid for undergrads, and I have to pay out of pocket for all my classes.
I took a CNA class 3 years ago, and I'm yet to take the test for the license. I need it to start some meaningful volunteering. There a little clinic for people without health insurance, that I want to volunteer in, since I personally use it. After I lost my full time job about a year ago, and lost my medical insurance, I started using this clinic. It offers access to family practice doctors, and it has it's own pharmacy. you only pay $15 to see the doctor, and $4 for each medication you need to take. I'm interested in the undeserved and minorities medical services. Volunteering there will help me learn more about what to expect.
I also need to start studying for the MCAT. I plan to take it in April, but time flies quickly.
That's all for now!

Pizza guy

I started a new job 3 days ago, in a little pizza place. It's much rougher than I thought it would be. The hours are long and the pay is minimum wage. The thing is I don't have a set schedule yet. So, I don't know how many hours I'll work or what days. That will be decided later.
I want to start preparing for the MCAT, but cannot find the motivation to do it. But I will soon.
What did you guys do to help studying for the MCAT? What material did you use?

While at it, u guys enjoy this Calzone :)

So, I was checking my favorite website SDN, when my iPhone made a kind buzz indicating that I got a new e-mail. It was from our Pre-Med adviser. He was informing us that there are changes to the MCAT. The writing sample will be eliminated effective January 2013 (Last time the writing sample will be administered is September 2012).
Of course, I heard that before, but I didn't realize that it will affect me, since I was planning on taking the MCAT last April. Now, I have to take it in April 2013, since my graduation was pushed back 1 year. So, to me, that was news. I was so happy, and very excited. You ask why. Well, for starters, I cannot spell (Damn you Microsoft Office). I don't know what happened to me, but gradually and surely, I started loosing command of how I spell. Plus, English is my second language, which makes things a lot harder, if you wanna be writing a competitive essay. The second reason, I cannot type, for the life of me. I'm 35. I've been using computers for years. But I was always looking at the keyboard whenever I'm trying to type something. Every time I go to the computer lab at school, and see how fast them kids type, I get blown away. Every single time. A few months ago, I decided that I want to learn typing. So, I bought a typing software. I think it's called Mavis, or something like that. I tried it for a couple of days. I kept getting frustrated, but at least I learned the position of every key. Now I can type, but my speed is so low. I'm trying to get faster, but I cannot use the software. It's too boring. So, for now I'm good since I don't have to worry about typing essays on the MCAT. Oh Yeah!

Crazy year

Hey guys! It's been a while. Many crazy things happened in the past few months. I had a horrible Spring semester, failing almost everything. That includes Org II and Lab, genetics, Cell Bio, Marine Bio (all F's). I managed to get a B in Ecology (I really liked it).
The reason is I'm having problems with my wife, and I don't know if I can keep my marriage from falling apart. We have two kids, 5 and 3, and we have a 3rd one on the way. Which makes things more complicated. I really hurt my sGPA through the years. I bet it's in the low 2.0's now. I have to calculate it. I was planning to apply this cycle, but after failing all these classes, I won't be able to graduate on time, and my gpa is way way too low. I'm thinking about applying next cycle to MD, DO, Caribbean, and Post-Bac Programs. Trying to be objective here. I know my chances are very slim, unless I kill the MCAT. I'm planning on taking it in April 2013, so I'll have like 8 months to prepare for it.
The thing is my willingness to study now is very low, and I'm kinda depressed. Will see how that goes. I will stay on top of this blog, and post as often as I can.
I'm not taking any Summer Classes this year. I'm not employed, so I don't have anything to do. Just no motivation to start studying.
That's all for now!
